Pelvic pain, prolapse and pressure belly Workshop



This is a 2 hour workshop on pelvic pain, prolapse and pressure belly (PP+P).


We see abdominal wall dysfunction in all sorts of patient profiles.  From pelvic pain, to prolapse to postpartum pressure belly.  In all of them, their abdominal wall dysfunction is contributing to their symptoms and also the aesthetics of their abdominal wall .  And each need a different strategy in order to optimise it.  

Learn to: 

  • Visually assess the abdominal wall and identify muscles are dominant.  Confirm with RTUS. 

  • Assess breathing and link the breathing pattern to the pelvic floor tone and function.

  • Assess the infrasternal angle.  Understand what the different angles mean and what this means for the diaphragm and pelvic floor

  • Feel through the thorax/ individual ribs to identify areas of compression/ rotation. 

  • Release throughout the thorax - including the infrasternal angle, external oblique, diaphragm, sub scapulars, serrates anterior, intercostals. 

  • Decide on exercises that may be beneficial to get rid of the tight vectors (muscles).  

  • Decide on a range of cuing options that could help their thorax and abdominal wall. 

NOTE:  You will be sent a link to a few videos to watch before the workshop to make sure everyone is on the same page. 

An internal is potentially a part of this workshop in order to link the thorax with the pelvic floor.
