COURSE DETAILS

 

Our two-hour 2D transperineal ultrasound (TP RTUS) skills workshop.  Designed for experienced WH/Pelvic Health Physiotherapists.  This course will teach you about:  

​

• Ultrasound set up, cleaning, tips and tricks 

• Supine and standing assessments 

• Bladder/urethral measurements: 

• Bladder neck descent 

• Retrovesical angle 

• Upper urethral funneling 

• Pelvic floor measurements: 

• Anorectal angle 

• Levator plate angle 

• Levator ani AP diameter 

• Contraction, relaxation, bear down maneuver 

• Case studies/ideas of how we are implementing TPUS into our daily caseload for example:

  • Pessary placement assessment/picking the right pessary 

  • Biofeedback - pregnancy, chronic constipation etc. 

  • For SUI patients for which we find the ultrasound pivotal

  • POP

 

 

Please note, the workshop is very much designed to be a skills-based workshop (hence it is not a day course). Research will be given where applicable, but, after reviewing much of the literature we have realised that, for many of the measurements there is rarely an agreement on “normal”.

You will be sent a link to a video to watch before the workshop to make sure everyone is on the same page and knows the theory/anatomy behind what they are looking at.

NOTE: you will have to be a participant/ subject in order to come to this workshop.
