Eliza Bernardi

Eliza Bernardi

Women's Health and Musckuloskeletal Physiotherapist.

I work at Bondi Junction and Caringbah.

My story:

I grew up in Forbes in the central west of NSW and eventually made my way to Sydney where I completed my years 9-12 at boarding school. I spent my childhood working in our family supermarket, playing soccer, touch football and water skied most weekends. I was constantly surrounded by my big extended family, as we all lived next door to each other!

I actually never had much to do with Physio until I attended a nerdy science camp in year 11. Here I had the opportunity to observe and talk to a bunch of Physio’s, and I guess I thought that what they were doing was pretty cool!

I studied Physiotherapy at ACU in North Sydney and was a product of their first cohort of physiotherapists. We were fortunate enough to study a six-week women’s health course, which is what sparked my interest in this field.

What makes me different:

I am a relaxed and personable physio who really loves getting to know my patients!

I have worked in the past, as part of a team of specialists (with other physio’s, exercise physiologists, dietitians, massage therapists and personal trainers). I feel this has given me the skills and insight into what is truly required to take people from the early phases of treatment to their end performance goals.

What I have learnt:

B. App Sci (Physiotherapy)

Musculoskeletal:

  • McKenzie Institute Part A Lumbar spine

  • Musculoskeletal Segmental & Dry Needling For Physiotherapists APA

  • ASCA Strength and Conditioning Level 1

  • APPI Matwork Level 1

  • APPI Ante/Post Natal Pilates

  • ConnectTherapy™ Series enrolled in 2019 – Dr Linda-Joy Lee

Women’s Health:

  • Introductory to Women’s Health – Taryn Hallam

  • Advanced course in Stress Urinary Incontinence and Pelvic Organ Prolapse – Taryn Hallam

  • Advanced Pelvic Floor – Exercise Sport and Musculoskeletal Dysfunction – Taryn Hallam

  • Objective Testing Advanced Level 1 – Taryn Hallam

  • Genitourinary and Anorectal Pain Disorders – Taryn Hallam

Fun Fact:

I learn’t piano up until 8th grade, but my teacher had to carefully select the songs (and they were always the worst ones) that only had very small jumps in them – I have such small hands that I struggled to reach the keys!
